Our Story

Team Pivot Cycles-OTE is a passionate UCI mountain bike team that has grown from local roots to the international stage. Our journey began in 2005 with a small mountain bike club in Lac-Beauport, Quebec. Starting with 120 members, we've expanded to over 450, driven by a commitment to the sport and community.

From early on, we focused on supporting local racers by forming a dedicated team, organizing regional and provincial events, and pursuing coaching certifications to elevate our athletes. In 2014, Team Pivot Cycles-OTE officially launched, bringing together Quebec's top junior riders to compete at national events and U.S. Cup races, fostering a culture of growth and achievement.

Carl, a key figure in our organization, has been deeply involved in the cycling community, serving on several boards of directors. Since 2005, he has supported the local bike club, joined the board of the Empire47 biking center from 2015 to 2023, and was part of the executive committee of the Quebec Cycling Federation (FQSC) from 2018 to 2024. His dedication exemplifies the commitment that drives our team and our presence in the cycling world.

In the past three years, Team Pivot Cycles-OTE has reached new heights, making a significant mark on both national and international mountain biking circuits. Our roster of Canadian riders has consistently secured top-3 finishes internationally, showcasing their skill, resilience, and determination. In 2024, we celebrated a World Cup win in the UCI U23 XCO (Cross-Country Olympic) series, a proud moment that highlighted our growth and competitiveness on the global stage. Additionally, our riders have claimed multiple provincial and national titles, solidifying our reputation as a powerhouse in Canadian mountain biking. These accomplishments have drawn attention from major cycling publications and bolstered our visibility in the MTB community.

Team Pivot Cycles-OTE is the only Cross-Country UCI Canadian Mountain Biking team and is proud to inspire, compete, and contribute to the mountain biking world on all levels.

At Team Pivot Cycles-OTE, our mission goes beyond competition—we're committed to making a lasting impact on the sport of mountain biking. One of our primary goals is to provide our athletes with the support they need to focus entirely on their performance, allowing them to make a sustainable living from their sport.

To achieve this, we provide high-level staff support for our athletes on their travels, including dedicated coaches, mechanics, and logistical coordinators who ensure they can perform at their best without added concerns. However, the financial demands of international competition, travel, equipment, and staffing are significant. With the help of valued partners, we aim to reduce these costs for our athletes, enabling them to dedicate themselves fully to their sport.
